Blacksand Pictures is an independent Australian film production company launched in 2021, dedicated to championing underrepresented voices on screen, particularly within the Muslim context. Since its inception, the company has produced award-winning short films, viral online series, and is developing a diverse slate of dynamic long-form content across both scripted and unscripted formats.
Blacksand Pictures has collaborated with leading industry bodies, including Screen Australia, VicScreen, the Saudi Film Commission, and the Kenya Film Commission. With a strong presence in Australia and Kenya, the company is also forging key partnerships in Saudi Arabia and the broader MENA region, thanks to the support of Screen Australia through their Enterprise Business investment in the company in 2023.
